What is a House Rabbit?
What are Rabbits Like?
Are rabbits soft and fuzzy? Most definitely. Are rabbits as cuddly
as they look? Not necessarily. Is a rabbit more like a cat or
a dog? Neither. A rabbit is like
a rabbit.
Why Keep a Rabbit Indoors?
The House Rabbit Society recommends your companion rabbit be
housed indoors. A hutch rabbit cannot
possibly receive as much attention as a rabbit within the home.
After all, how much time do you intend to spend in the yard?
Personalities emerge when your rabbit gets to know you. Their
potential is realized when you enjoy each others' companionship.
How are Rabbits Different
from Cats & Dogs?
Rabbits, unlike dogs & cats, are prey
animals. Dogs & cats are descended from predators. This difference
is important in understanding your rabbit's behavior. Our familiar
expectations & experiences with those animals do not always
carry over when you have a rabbit living with you. These differences
can work to your advantage when you share your house with a rabbit.
